This website has been created in response to ESSO & UGL's tactics used to undermine the working wages & conditions of the their loyal contractual maintenance workers.
Upon completion of a successful 7 year contract and the winning of a further 7 year contract, UGL set up a subsidiary company MTCT Services Pty Ltd (An on paper company only).
Instead of continuing business as usual for a further 7 years, UGL saw fit to sack the entire workforce and then offer them their jobs back (the very next day) under the title of MTCT Services Pty Ltd.
There was only one catch, It would be at the cost of eroding conditions that had been built up by the employees over a number of years previously.
Signing up to MTCT Services Pty Ltd would see the workers face
Once again we see a company decline to negotiate a good & fair EBA with their workers, but have an EA signed in WA by three individuals only that will never be employed under these conditions.
These conditions are then presented to the workforce in a "Take It or Leave It" approach.
UGL along with ESSO, are exploiting a legal loop hole in the system which is being used to undermine wages & conditions. This tactic is rife across Australia and was recently highlighted in the CUB dispute.... Battle Of The Brewery.
This is not only an attack on the work force, but an attack on the surrounding communities that rely on money being spent in their shops, their business, theirs schools etc.
It is a direct attack on our Families, our Mothers, Fathers, Sons & Daughters.
As mentioned previously, this tactic is now being used all across Australia. When and Where will it Stop???

UGLy GREED AT IT AGAIN!!!
Tax-dodging UGL CIMIC have put out a company EBA that slashes
the incomes and conditions of offshore gas maintenance workers
by 20-40%. They're using their dodgy labor hire company MTCT to do it.
The MTCT(UGL) agreement is missing/reducing many of the conditions and arrangements we all enjoyed in the previous agreements, like:
• Offshore full Annual Leave Payments - Gone
• Offshore Personal Leave 12hrs - Gone
• Public Holidays Arrangements - Gone
• RDO Arrangements - Gone
• Accident Make-Up Pay - Gone
• Over-Cycle Payments - Gone
• Dozens of Allowances - Reduced
• Casual Loading - Ordinary Hours Only
• Offshore Night Shift Loadings - Cut 30%
• Travel Allowances - Reduced
• Classification Levels - Reduced
• Offshore Flat Rate that cuts Overtime Payments - Reduced
• Inclement Weather - Gone
• Living Away From Home Allowcance - Gone
• Call Out Allowance - Gone
• Training Arrangements - Gone
• Shift Cycles And Hours Arrangements - Gone
• Paid Return Flights - Gone
This agreement not only reduces wages and conditions, but also
reduces your rights as a worker. UGL through MTCT is trying to sell
you fool’s gold and you should not trust them.
VOTE NO, and send UGL a message to be honest and bring back the
wages and conditions that will compensate workers for the
work we do in this highly dangerous industry.

It was less than a week ago that over 120,000 union members
and families took over the streets of Melbourne to stand up for justice,
equality and a bigger slice of the pie for working people.

This is Troy. Troy pays more tax than the multi-billion dollar
multinational he worked for: ExxonMobil.
Exxon and their contractor UGL cut Troy's wages and conditions by 30% and said if he wanted to keep his job he'd have to accept the pay cuts.
Troy said no.
Troy said he'd fight.
So when he found out Exxon doesn't pay any tax, and still wants
to cut his wages, he was seriously angry.
That's why he's helping to lead a campaign with his workmates to
Make Exxon Pay fair wages and a fair share of tax.
Because big businesses like Exxon have too much.
And we can't afford to give them any more.

Exxon has enjoyed the rampant increase in gas prices in Australia but managed to wipe out $25 billion in total income to deliver taxable income of donut. Accountant PwC.
Hundreds of related tax haven entities, huge loans from associates overseas, and exploiting tax losses on new mega-gas projects allows the largest of the US oil majors to pay no income tax. This, despite running the fabulously profitable Bass Strait gas joint venture with BHP.
In constant disputes with its workers, Exxon misled the Senate but has not been charged with contempt.
NO!!! Un-Australian, Un-Ethical, Un-Acceptable.
